Dr. Jung is an environmental epidemiologist who graduated from the Department of Public Health at China Medical University. His expertise includes environmental epidemiology, big data analysis, machine learning on air pollution modeling, and the application of artificial intelligence. His research focuses on the associations between indoor and outdoor air pollution and health effects, particularly in relation to asthma, autism, Alzheimer's disease, and Kawasaki disease. He specializes in satellite-based air pollution modeling and studying the relationships between environmental exposures and metabolites. Dr. Jung has extensive experience conducting research using several large databases in Taiwan, such as the National Health Insurance Research Database, the Taiwan Maternal and Child Health Database (TMCHD), Cancer Registry, and iHi Platform. He has developed satellite-based PM2.5 estimation models for Taiwan using NASA’s Terra and Aqua aerosol optical depth (AOD) data. Since December 2018, he has been involved in the Japan Environment and Children's Study, where he has examined the associations between gestational weight gain and heavy metal exposure on maternal and infant health outcomes. Additionally, he has investigated the effects of dwelling characteristics on indoor air pollutants, including volatile organic compounds and gaseous pollutants in Japan. Dr. Jung became an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health at China Medical University in December 2020. His current research explores the effects of environmental exposures on children's health using the exposome approach.
