Professor Hung-Rong Yen is a physician-scientist who currently serves as Dean of the College of Chinese Medicine at China Medical University and Director of the Division of Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine at China Medical University Hospital, Taichung, Taiwan. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Global University Network of Traditional Medicine (GUNTM) and President-Elect of the International Society for Ethnopharmacology (ISE). He earned his M.D. degree from China Medical University and holds dual licensure in Western and Chinese medicine. He completed clinical training in Western medicine at Chang Gung Children’s Hospital and in Chinese medicine at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. He obtained his Ph.D. from Chang Gung University, Taiwan and completed a three-year research fellowship in immunology at Johns Hopkins University, USA. With dual clinical training in Western and Chinese medicine, Professor Yen is a strong advocate for integrating traditional and modern healthcare. He is committed to mentoring future physicians and fostering collaboration across disciplines. His integrative clinical practice teams have received two Symbol of National Quality (SNQ) Awards in Taiwan for excellence in healthcare quality. As a clinician, he is widely respected for his compassionate approach to patient care. In 2023, he was recognized as Best Doctor of the Year by Common Health magazine in Taiwan. His research on Taiwan’s native herbal medicine earned him the 2022 Innovation Award in Taiwan and the Prof. Peter Houghton Innovation Award from the International Society for Ethnopharmacology (ISE) in 2024. His acupuncture research was honored with the ICMART Science Award from the International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques (ICMART) in 2023. Professor Yen has also been ranked among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by a Stanford University-led research team for both lifetime and single-year research impact over consecutive years. Professor Yen has led the College of Chinese Medicine USR team, dedicated to improving child and adolescent health in Taichung through integrative care and education. Under his leadership, the team has continually received the Taiwan Sustainability Action Award (TSAA) from the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) in 2024, 2025 and 2026. An innovator in Chinese medicine education, he has introduced Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), virtual reality applications, and English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) courses into the curriculum. He serves as Associate Editor of Complementary Therapies in Medicine (2018–2021), Frontiers in Pharmacology (2020–present), and Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine (2025–present), and is on the editorial boards of Integrative Cancer Therapies, Complementary Therapies in Medicine, Integrative Medicine Research, BioMedicine (Taipei), Aspects of Molecular Medicine, and Perspective on Integrative Medicine. 顏宏融教授是一位兼具臨床、教學與研究專長的醫師科學家，現任中國醫藥大學中醫學院院長，以及中國醫藥大學附設醫院中西醫結合科主任；同時擔任全球傳統醫藥大學聯盟（Global University Network of Traditional Medicine, GUNTM）執行長，以及國際民族藥理學會（International Society for Ethnopharmacology, ISE）候任理事長。顏宏融醫師畢業於中國醫藥大學中醫學系，具備西醫與中醫雙重醫師執照。他曾於林口長庚兒童醫院接受西醫小兒科臨床訓練，並於長庚紀念醫院完成中醫臨床訓練；其後取得長庚大學臨床醫學博士學位，並赴美國約翰霍普金斯大學醫學院完成為期三年的免疫學研究訓練。憑藉中西醫雙重臨床訓練背景，顏宏融醫師積極倡議傳統醫學與現代醫療的中西醫整合，並長期投入培育新世代醫師及促進跨領域合作。他所帶領的中西醫整合臨床團隊，曾兩度獲得臺灣的國家品質標章（Symbol of National Quality, SNQ），肯定團隊的卓越醫療照護品質。身為臨床醫師，顏宏融醫師以充滿同理心的照護方式廣受肯定，並於2023年獲臺灣《康健》雜誌選為年度好醫師。顏宏融教授針對臺灣本土藥用植物所進行的基礎臨床轉譯研究，於2022年在臺灣獲得國家新創獎，並於2024年榮獲國際民族藥理學會頒發的 Prof. Peter Houghton Innovation Award。其針灸研究亦於2023年獲國際醫學針灸暨相關技術學會（International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques, ICMART）頒發 ICMART Science Award。此外，顏教授已連續多年獲史丹佛大學研究團隊評選為「全球前2%頂尖科學家」，並同時入選終身科學影響力及年度科學影響力排行榜。顏宏融教授亦帶領中國醫藥大學中醫學院大學社會責任實踐（University Social Responsibility, USR）團隊，透過整合照護與衛生教育，致力於促進臺中地區兒童及青少年的健康。其帶領的中西醫整合兒童照護團隊於2024年、2025年與2026年連續獲得臺灣永續能源研究基金會（Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy, TAISE）頒發的臺灣永續行動獎（Taiwan Sustainability Action Award, TSAA）。在中醫教育創新方面，顏教授將中醫教育結合客觀結構式臨床測驗（Objective Structured Clinical Examination, OSCE）、開放式線上課程（Massive Open Online Courses, MOOCs）、虛擬實境（Virtual Reality, VR）應用，以及推動雙語化的英語授課（English as a Medium of Instruction, EMI）導入中醫教學體系，積極推動中醫教育的革新與國際化。顏教授創立臺灣中醫兒童暨青少年科醫學會，並擔任《台灣中醫兒童暨青少年科醫學雜誌》總編輯，並擔任全國五校六系中醫共同教材《中醫兒科學》副主編，參與整合臺灣中醫兒科學的教學與臨床經驗，推動中醫兒科教育的系統化、專業化與中西醫整合。在國際學術期刊出版服務方面，他曾任《Complementary Therapies in Medicine》副主編（2018–2021），現任《Frontiers in Pharmacology》（2020年至今）及《Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine》（2025年至今）副主編，並擔任《Integrative Cancer Therapies》、《Complementary Therapies in Medicine》、《Integrative Medical Research》、《BioMedicine (Taipei)》、《Aspects of Molecular Medicine》, and 《Perspective on Integrative Medicine》等國際期刊的編輯委員。
