Welcome
I am a surface chemist from Singapore and I had graduated from Flinders University in South Australia in 2009 with a PhD in Physical Sciences. I subsequently undertook my postdoctoral training at UNSW (Australia 2008-9), NTU (Singapore 2010-2011) and UNIMIB (Italy 2012-2015).
Since October 2015, I was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biological Science and Technology at CMU. I was then promoted to Associate Professor in August 2019 and finally as Full Professor in August 2023.
I am interested in the fundamental study of subnanometer bond formation (< l nm) on silicon surfaces (hydrosilylation, nucleophilic reactions etc) as well as observing cell-surface interactions on 2D surfaces. Recently, I am also interested with the chemical receptions on atomically flatten surfaces. I teach Organic Chemistry, Bionanotechnology and Biomaterials Sciences at the undergraduate levels.
