Dr. Jung is an environmental epidemiologist who graduated from the Department of Public Health, China Medical University. His expertise includes environmental epidemiology, big data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence application. His research interests focused on the associations of indoor/outdoor air pollution on health effects (especially for asthma, autism, Alzheimer's disease, and Kawasaki disease), satellite-based air pollution modeling, and the relationships between environmental exposures and metabolites. He has experience in conducting researches with several large databases in Taiwan such as the National Health Insurance Research Database and Taiwan Maternal and Child Health Database (TMCHD). He has built satellite-based PM2.5 estimation models in Taiwan by using NASA Terra and Aqua aerosol optical depth (AOD). Since December 2018, He joined the Japan Environment and Children’s Study and has assessed the associations between gestational weight gain and heavy metals on maternal and infant outcomes. He also assessed the effects of dwelling characteristics on indoor air pollutants, including volatile organic compounds and gaseous pollutants in Japan. Dr. Jung became an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health, China Medical University in December 2020. He is investigating the effects of environmental exposures on children's health by the exposome approach.
