Prof. Chang-Cheng (Charlie Chang, MD, PhD, is Professor at China Medical University and Director of Laser & Cosmetology at the Aesthetic Medical & Surgery Center, China Medical University Hospital (Taichung). A board-certified microvascular reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgeon with over two decades of experience, he integrates photonics, regenerative medicine, and laser science to deliver pigment-safe, measurable outcomes for Asian skin. After earning his MD from Chang Gung University (2000), Prof. Chang founded both the Wound Care Center and the Aesthetic Medical Center at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Chiayi (2010), creating an interdisciplinary model that links microsurgery, lasers, rehabilitation, and coordinated nursing care. He completed a PhD in Photonics at National Chiao Tung University (2020), applying optical principles to clinical decision-making and trial design. Prof. Chang's research spans wound care, regenerative medicine, and aesthetic laser technologies, with 74 SCI-indexed publications and a book chapter. His clinical focus includes melasma and dyschromia, vascular lesions, acne scarring, and scar contracture. He is known for standardizing energy-based parameters and sequencing wavelength selection, moderated fluence, interval spacing to reduce PIH risk while maintaining efficacy, with rigorous outcome quantification. A Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and former Secretary-General of the Taiwan Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, he is a frequent invited faculty at regional and international meetings.
